When TodayTix launched a landmark product partnership with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, it was the culmination of tireless and powerful collaboration across the organization. It was a cause for celebration. In addition to traditional means of merit-based employee recognition, we sent a letter from the CEO to our global team that called on our core values and, of course, a little bit of magic.

To the Gryffindors, Slytherins, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws of TodayTix:

Last year, a partner sent Geri an email that sang our praises and dubbed our team “Unicorn Wizards.” Though entirely accurate, there is no way she could’ve known how on-the-nose the description would someday be....

Congratulations. We made magic (and records) happen today.

Our entire team banded together to produce one of the most ambitious deliverables to date. We’ve expanded our product, reshaped design, tested the limits of our technology (#loadtesting) and altered the partner- and consumer-landscapes. In doing so, our team has been an embodiment of the values we set forth in the fall:

• Create: The Friday Forty forced our team into uncharted territory. We stepped outside of the box across the board. We’ve challenged our preexisting concepts of access programs and brand. The result was a beautiful creation that reflects the innovation at the core of our mission.

• Hustle: The hustle was real. Midnight oil was burned. This end result would not have been possible without the passion and tenacity of our incredibly skilled teams across the board. The success has resulted in changes to our framework for project, product and technical management going forward.

• Collaborate + Respect: These two go together. This was a tremendous group effort that crossed departments and time zones. Without mutual respect, effective communication and transparency, these efforts would have been for naught. Even in times of frustration, our team’s collaborative spirit on this project was unprecedented and paves the way for an exciting future.

Now it’s time to live up to one last value: celebrate. Take a minute to put down your quills and raise a glass of butter-beer. This is something to remember. In some capacity, every function in this company contributed to, or is impacted by, this accomplishment. The team’s outstanding conduct on path to launch is a major win outside of the deliverable itself. Today we have surpassed our record for daily New York registrations, with over [redacted] strong (and counting).

Let this be a start of things to come. It would be a grave mistake not to close with the words of a certain headmaster with half-moon spectacles: “Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.” Today your hearts should be overflowing.
